Website, Social Media, & Technology Committee

Purpose

The Website, Social Media and Technology Committee is responsible for coordinating and distributing information to the Section, including oversight of the production, quality, and ongoing updates of content for the Section’s website and social media platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the ongoing construction, maintenance, and content updates to the Section’s website and establish and maintain the website as the primary means of Section communication.
  2. Coordinate the ongoing construction, maintenance, and content updates to the Section’s various social media platforms and establish and maintain a familiar presence across social media platforms.
  3. Ensure that the Section’s website and social media platforms are current, relevant, and secure in both format and content by performing periodic review.
  4. Prepare status reports following Committee meetings and calls for presentation at all ELULS Executive Council Meetings.
  5. Operate within budgetary parameters to ensure appropriate Section expenditures related to the Section’s web-based presence.
  6. Evaluate and identify new Committee goals or revisions to Committee goals through periodic review.

Goals

  1. Prepare a manual with guidelines concerning the Committee’s policies with regard to collecting and posting social media content, including utilization of Florida Bar’s Social Media Policies.
  2. Identify issues or problems with Section website and social media pages and coordinate efforts to troubleshoot and/or update those platforms.
  3. Establish a password-protected subset of the Section website to house member benefits such as CLE programming, the ELUL Treatise, IOPs, and a substantive law topic forum.
  4. Identify a platform to use for a substantive law forum and promote that platform to Section membership.
  5. Promote the updated Section website and social media platforms as the primary means by which Section membership will learn of Section activities, news, and events.
  6. Identify and build parameters for each Section Committee to provide content for social media and
    website.
